Neal’s Yard Remedies | Frankincense Refining Cleanser

We’ve all heard of Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish right? Well, I don’t like it one bit. I used it a few years ago and never thought anything of it. It started receiving all of these awards & every blogger was blogging about it but I never really understood the hype and I still don’t.  I know that a lot of you love this product but it just didn’t work for me. I do however like the idea of using one product to remove my make-up and cleanse my skin and love using a muslin cloth to remove it. So…

I came across Neal’s Yard Remedies version and I have fallen in love. There are no harsh chemicals or dangerous ingredients in this product, it is full of natural and organic goodness. You use it the same as the Cleanse & Polish – simply rub it all over your face (over make-up too) and use a hot muslin cloth to remove it. You should do this twice if you have make-up on so that you take off all your make-up and cleanse your face too. You receive an organic muslin cloth with this product too which is a bonus!

It is really smooth and feels so luxurious on my skin. It smells divine too – the frankincense is a gorgeous, relaxing scent so this is perfect to remove your make-up at night! It leaves my skin feeling soft and removes my make-up efficiently. I also think it is suitable for removing eye make-up which is especially good as it means I don’t need two products!

After using it for a few weeks I can definitely see and feel a difference in my skin. I used to have a bit of redness on my cheeks but now I feel comfortable going out without make-up on as it has calmed my redness a lot! I have quite dry skin in places but also get the odd breakout here and there so this product has really helped and I have been getting less breakouts and my skin isn’t as dry!

It also won Best Cleanser in the 2013 Best in Beauty Awards!

You can buy it here for £19.50 for 100g.

Have you tried either of these products? What do you think?

  1. I tried cleanse and polish but it isn't good for people with sensitive skin due to the eucalyptus, I loved the sample I got of this, in fact it is a strong contender to be my next creamy cleanser purchase! x
