I recently wrote a blog post about brands that I want to try in 2014. One of the brands was Bodhi (now Bodhi & Birch) which has been on my wishlist for months and months but I never got round to trying it out. I had seen rave reviews of some of Elijah’s products so it was at the top of my wishlist for 2014. The lovely Elijah saw my blog post and contacted me on Twitter to see if I would like to try some of his products. Of course I immediately said yes and I was so thankful and grateful to Elijah for offering! I am so happy I was able to try these products as you can tell how much effort and time Elijah has put into making his products just right. From the packaging, to the formulations to the divine scents, everything is so luxurious yet natural at the same time. All of the products are free from: Petrochemicals, Sulphates, Parabens, Phthalates, Glycols, PEGs, DEAs, Synthetic Polymers, Synthetic Fragrance or Colours, Palm Oil or Animal Ingredients.
I’ll start off with my favourite product out of the three that Elijah sent me; Neroli Lucé
Revitalising Facial Oil*. It is packed full of Tunisian Neroli Oil, Frankincense and Sea Buckthorn Oil as well as Grapeseed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Jojoba and Apricot Kernel Oil. Sounds gorgeous doesn’t it? Well it is! I have quite problematic skin; I have blackheads on my nose and chin and have the occasional breakout once or twice a week. Alongside my Oskia Renaissance Gel Cleanser (review), this oil has helped to control my breakouts and reduce my blackheads. I’ve used this every night without fail since I received it and have seen such a difference in my skin! It’s one of those products that you don’t think you need, then once you have it you wonder how you ever lived without it! It smells absolutely divine, like sweet oranges and it sinks into my skin straight away and doesn’t feel greasy. I will be purchasing the full size when this runs out for sure!
Rosemary Chi Himalayan Detox Salt Scrub* is one of Bodhi’s products that I have seen many rave reviews for. I’ll admit that after making my own body scrub at the end of last year, I didn’t think I would ever need another scrub. However, after reading reviews for this product I was very tempted and my own concoction didn’t last that long anyway! Oh boy, how wrong was I. As soon as I opened the luxurious heavy black jar, the smell hit me. A gorgeous aromatic blend of rosemary, geranium, cedarwood and petitgrain makes you feel calm yet energised at the same time for me. This scrub is like no other body scrub I have tried before. It is full of shea butter and mango seed oil to moisturise and the salt feels very soft yet it is still effective and the salt doesn’t simply dissolve away like other scrubs. My skin felt so soft after using this and my dry skin was even at bay for a couple of days after using this! That is when you can tell a scrub is good in my opinion! I haven’t tried this yet but a good idea is to use this whilst standing in your bath tub, then let the salt fall into the bath and you have an amazing bath afterwards! This scrub has also just won the Best Aromatherapy Product award in The 2014 Beauty Shortlist Awards, which is very much deserved! Congratulations!
Ginger Brew Deep Tissue Massage & Body Oil* was the product I had on my wishlist as I am training for Race for Life in June and I have just signed up to Bootcamp to help with training that I go to two/three times a week. My boyfriend is a physiotherapist at the hospital so I’m always asking him for massages after a grueling session at Bootcamp and this massage oil works a treat to helps my aching muscles! It smells gorgeous, quite a woody, earthy ginger scent rather than sweet. It has a potent blend of Plai, Galangal, Turmeric & Ginger oils to help alleviate physical and mental stresses. I definitely feel more relaxed and less achy after getting a massage from Paul but this oil just makes it even more enjoyable. I even use it as a body oil after showering after my Bootcamp session if I’m not staying getting a massage and it just feels so nourishing on my skin.
After I received my parcel, I got another one in the post the next day and I thought Christmas had come twice! However, it was somebody else’s order that had accidentally been sent to me. I contacted Elijah who said I should keep the parcel as it would be inconvenient to return it, (it seems Christmas did come twice!) and it contained another Rosemary Chi Salt Scrub so I passed that onto my Mummy and then the Cacao Cocoon Lip Treatment Balm*. I use this every morning and every night to keep my lips in tip top condition. It’s a very light balm in the same gorgeous jar as the salt scrub. I keep this on my bedside table as it’s the perfect treatment to keep my lips nourished and moisturised. Especially after those Bootcamp sessions out in the cold, windy weather! It’s full of Cacao Butter, Cacao Absolute, Murumuru Butter, Illipe Butter, Red Raspberry Seed Oil, Sea Buckthorn Oil and Blackcurrant Seed Oil. It really is as good as it sounds! I would like it to last slightly longer on my lips in the morning but it does do an excellent job and I use my S.W Basics or Eos balms to top up during the day. I’m obsessed with packaging and all of the boxes that the products come in are wrapped with a ribbon and sealed with a sticker which I absolutely love. I keep boxes and bags when I buy things for ages, and these look so luxe and chic on my shelves!
*These products were kindly send to me by Elijah, the owner of Bodhi. All opinions are 100% honest and my own.
