My Skincare Routine April 2014 | Beauty

Over the past few months I have seen a huge difference in my skin. I haven’t changed my diet dramatically or anything like that so I believe that it’s down to the products I’ve been using and sticking to a consistent routine with them all.

Oskia Renaissance Gel Cleanser was my last purchase of 2013 and I’m so glad I bought it. You can read my full review on it here but it’s basically an illuminating vitamin cleanser that’s a bright orange gel, which melts into an oil as it comes into contact with the skin. It feels so luxurious and had made a huge difference to my blackheads, breakouts & overall appearance of my skin.

I have two toners that I’ve been loving recently. My favourite is the REN Clarifying Toning Lotion that I recently re-purchased as I had ran out. This made a huge difference to my blackheads too. The other one is a new product I bought in New York and is the Acure Balancing Rose & Red Clay Toner. It’s a spray toner that is perfect for normal to oily skin. I have a bit of redness on my cheeks and the rose in this toner as well as the Oskia cleanser has helped to reduce this.

I have been loving my Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil for months. It helped to balance my oily skin as well as get rid of any dry patches. The thing I love most about this oil is that you can apply it right before applying your make-up and it works a treat. No greasy fringe either!

The lovely Elijah from Bodhi kindly sent me some products to try recently and one of them was his best-selling Neroli Luce Facial Oil. I use this every night without fail! I thought that using the cleaner helped my blackheads and breakouts but oh boy this has helped even more! It smells absolutely divine and I will definitely be repurchasing this in the future. I use two pumps in the evening and use my Indie Lee oil every morning.

As I have oily skin, I don’t tend to use a moisturiser after the facial oils as I feel that they are moisturising enough. Sometimes if I feel my skin needs an extra little something I’ll use an extra moisturiser but I don’t have any full sizes at the minute, although I have been liking Urban Veda’s Purifying Day Cream so I’ll probably purchase that soon and I also like Neal’s Yard Remedies Power Berry Moisturiser

I have been on the lookout for a decent eye cream/gel for a while now. I do really like Neal’s Yard Remedies White Tea Eye Gel and I have loads of sample sachets so I use them every now and then but haven’t pictured them. I am going to try Indie Lee’s Calendula Eye Balm next though as I’ve heard great things about it!

I have quite a few lip balms but my favourite has to be S.W Basics cocoa lip balm. It only has three ingredients but it nourishes my lips and stops them from getting cracked or flaky. My current lip balm that I use every morning and every night is the Bodhi Cacao Cocoon Lip Treatment. It’s lightweight, smells gorgeous and keeps my lips nourished overnight.

Spot Treatment

As I do sometimes have a few breakouts, I recently bought a spot treatment from New York from a brand called Isa’s Restoratives. It’s their Three Flower Astringent which is an oil that comes with a pipette so I simply squeeze a small amount onto my fingers and place onto any blemishes. It does absolutely stink but it doesn’t stay on the skin for long and helps to zap spots away super quickly!

Face Masks/Treatments

I love using face masks once a week to help get rid of any impurities or blackheads on my skin and to give my skin a bit of a pampering. A recent addition to my skincare routine is the Blueberry Fusion Micro Scrub from The Body Deli, available exclusively on A Beautiful World. My favourite masks are ones that I actually make myself using clay, honey & water. My favourite is Bentonite Clay and you can read my post about that here.

To remove my eye make-up I use Alba Botanica Eye Make-up Remover that I bought in Wholefoods in New York. Its really lightweight and doesn’t feel greasy at all. I don’t wear waterproof mascara so I can’t comment on that but it does a great job of removing all my eyeshadow & mascara!

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about my skincare routine! If you’ve recently done a skincare post I’d love to be nosy and have a look so post your link below.

  2. I love the Oskia Cleanser too I've been using it for around a month now and it's really brightened up my dull skin. The Indie Lee facial oil sounds so good, I have combination skin and I love using oils. Eye cream is something I've not quite got right yet, but my skin loves anything with calendula in so the eye cream sounds good too 😀 x
