Yours Truly Organics Reviews

I was recently contacted by Kelita, a lovely lady who has created her own skincare line – Yours Truly Organics. Her range is brand new and was launched at The Natural Products Show Olympia at the beginning of April. Kelita suffered with very oily skin and acne in her early twenties and struggled to find a range of products that were natural and organic for the problems she was having so she decided to make her own range! Kelita has made four products, all of which have Ecocert, Cruelty Free & Vegetarian Society certifications.

“Our philosophy at Yours Truly Organics is that beautiful skin is achievable using ingredients that are in the best interest of your health. So whilst our products are beautiful on the outside, they are also beautiful on the inside.”

Take it Away! Gel Cleanser* (£22 150ml) was the first product that I tried. This foaming cleanser is enriched with Vitamin C and Sandalwood Oil, it claims to remove impurities from the skin’s surface whilst maintaining its natural elasticity, leaving your skin feeling soft and clean. My first impressions were that it smelt lovely, went smoothly over my skin and cleansed well. It does foam slightly because of the Cocomidopropyl Betaine (I think) but this hasn’t irritated my skin at all. The only thing I’m not too keen on with this product is that it leaves an odd taste on my lips/around my mouth and it just doesn’t taste all that natural to me – more like a wash rather than a gel. Not that I taste the cleanser its just the taste that is left on my lips after cleansing is a bit off-putting.

The Balancing Toner* (£19 150ml) is the next step in my routine. It claims to return your skin to its optimal pH level and improve its ability to absorb moisture. It includes Witch Hazel & Aloe Vera so soothe and repair the skin’s surface. I really like this toner; it’s refreshing yet feels soothing and cleansing at the same time. I either spray it straight onto my skin and dab it in or use a cotton pad and both ways work really well. It also smells a bit citrus-y which is really uplifting in the mornings.

The Fix Me! Repairing Serum* (£28 30ml) is probably my favourite product out of the four that were sent to me and is definitely something I would repurchase when I run out. This serum claims to smooth, repair and tighten your skin with oat kernel, and reduce inflammation caused by blemishes with sesame seed extract and saw palmetto. These aren’t the usual ingredients you come across so it made it really interesting trying this out. At first I applied way too much and was rubbing it in for ages so only a small amount is needed. It can feel quite sticky though if you don’t apply enough so it’s definitely a trial and error product to get the right amount! My skin has been really good recently but since incorporating these products into my routine and it’s definitely helped with blemishes – I’ve not had many at all, perhaps two or three in a few weeks!

The last product I received was the Face Base Face Balm* (£25 100ml) which isn’t what I would call a balm – more of a thick moisturiser but still is lovely to use. It is formulated with Pea Extract to improve elasticity and regulate your skin’s sebum production and Daisy Flower Extract that will brighten your skin’s complexion. I’ve never heard of either of these ingredients so this definitely sets Yours Truly Organics apart from other natural skincare ranges. This can feel quite sticky too – quite like the repairing serum however my skin feels moisturised and nourished without feeling greasy or breaking out my skin.

Overall, a lovely range to try and I would highly recommend the repairing serum if you suffer with oily skin/acne! I would like the serum & balm to be less sticky as it is a bit annoying having sticky hands but I can look past that as I do like the products. Take a look at Kelita’s website here.

I have a new camera so expect to see more high quality photos on my blog from now on woo!

Nice to hear what you think of these, I wasn't able to test as I had too much to blog about but I like the look and ethos of the brand and Kelita is really passionate about her products 🙂 Xx

  3. I am almost at the point where I'm going to have to turn down PR Samples now as I have way too much haha! The products are lovely though, the toner and serum are my favourite 🙂 xx

  7. I've just started to test these out this week, agree that the Serum and Face Balm are very sticky which is making it difficult for me to layer anything over them! x

  9. Yes I think Kelita did approach a lot of us – even the Unsullied girls in USA have tried them out! I do like the toner and the serum but I wouldn't re-purchase the cleanser or the moisturiser x

  10. Yeah it's difficult isn't it! The serum isn't so bad if you do it quickly and put a fair bit on but then it takes a while to rub it in! x

  16. I agree! I think most of us like the toner & serum best. My skin feels tight after using the wash and not keen on the after taste x
