As I already have way too much skincare and my make-up isn’t far behind, this month from My Pure I thought I would try a toothbrush & toothpaste. It was my first experience of natural toothpaste as I’m a really fussy eater and don’t like specific tastes so I was quite scared for a while but decided to take the plunge and switch to natural toothpaste!
I chose the Radius Original Toothbrush* as it looked really interesting. The toothbrush is made from sustainable materials with a unique ergonomic design. Each brush apparently lasts up to 9 months and has 300% more bristles than a standard brush to keep your whole mouth clean. The clever handle design encourages brushing with just the right amount of pressure and reduces enamel erosion. The toothbrush is made from high quality materials which means they last longer, meaning they’ll be used for longer and won’t fill up landfills! They are made in the USA and have had a cult following since 1982.
I started using this and it took a little bit of getting used to as the brush is huge! I took a photo so you can see how big the brush is compared to my mouth…its almost the size of my mouth! But it does a great job of getting to all of my teeth and gums and my mouth feels really clean after using this.
It massages your gums at the same time as cleaning your teeth which feels quite nice as long as you don’t push too hard like I did at first. I have had a little bit of irritation on my gums but it has dropped significantly in the last 10 days since I’ve been using it. The brush is designed to sit comfortably in your hand so they have right and left hand designs. It’s really easy to hold and I think it helps to get into all the right places to clean your teeth and gums at the same time.
The great thing about this brush is the challenge that comes with it…Use your brush for one week and if you’re not entirely satisfied, send it back for a full refund!
I have been using the toothpaste along with the Riddells Creek Mint Toothpaste*. Riddells Creek toothpastes contain no sulphates, fluorides or mineral oils. They are certified organic and freshen the mouth with sodium bicarbonate, organic peppermint and spearmint essential oil. As my first experience of natural toothpaste I have nothing to compare this to but its quite blobby. I’m not sure how else to describe it! When I first tried it I thought it wasn’t all mixed up together so I shook the tube but it still came out the same. I’ve taken a photo of the toothpaste so you can sort of see. It does freshen my mouth however it took me a while to get used to the texture. It’s not overly minty however it’s not awful either – I was expecting much worse! I can definitely use this without being grossed out like I normally am as I’m such a fussy eater haha!
