I was recently in contact with the lovely ladies at Delizioso Skincare on Twitter and they offered to send me some products to review on my blog & YouTube. I chose a couple of products from their website and when I received my package I was amazed with how generous the girls were. I received a whole bunch of goodies that I want to share with you girls!
Delizioso Skincare is a Canadian brand run by sister-duo Leeona and Ariel Emerald who are only 16 and 20!! All of their products are handmade and the girls make them fresh to order so they’re not sitting around for months. They believe that natural is best (of course!) and only use the highest quality ingredients for their products. They have a wide range of products from lipsticks and eyeshadows to skincare products like facial cleansers & moisturisers. You can tell the girls are passionate about their products and whilst e-mailing about my review, they were so professional & helpful I never would have guessed how young they are! What an achievement to have such an amazing brand at a young age.
Here is my video where I talk all about the products that I was sent but I’ve also written a full blog post underneath if you prefer to have a read through & look at swatches!
I was sent two of their lipsticks in the colours Lychee Crisp* and Bubblegum*. They have a range of 20 lipsticks and they call them the “Creme de la Creme” lipsticks. They are 100% natural and the main ingredients in them are oils; Pomegranate, Jojoba and Sesame as well as Candelilla wax, Carnuba wax and Cupuacu butter which makes them very moisturising.
As soon as I tried Lychee Crisp it was love at first
sight try! It is a very bright, deep pink that goes on quite sheer but is easily buildable to be a full-on bright which I love. It also leaves some colour on the lips as it wears off so it doesn’t look bad when it starts to fade! It is a matte shade so there’s no shimmer but as it’s so moisturising it has a pretty gloss and I absolutely love it. It doesn’t last all day but I don’t mind re-applying it as it just feels so moisturising and nourishing on my lips – almost as if I’m applying a lip balm! I did a light swatch at the bottom and then built it up a few layers on the top swatch underneath so you can see the difference.
Bubblegum is a muted baby pink which is more sheer than Lychee Crisp and not as glossy. It doesn’t show up that much on my lips as I have quite dark lips but its a lovely day colour that just adds moisture & a bit of colour to my lips to lighten them slightly. If I have heavy, smoky eyes or a lot of colour on the lids, this is the kind of shade I would wear! Again, I did a light swatch on the bottom then built it up on the top swatch.
Another lip product that I was sent is their Berry Lipliner* which is a gorgeous deep plum/berry shade. It’s really creamy and very pigmented. I love using lipliners as an all over colour but something fun that I like to do is use a light shade all over my lips and use a darker lipliner to contour the outer corners of my lips just to add a slight bit of definition and volume! This works really well with the Lychee Crisp lipstick, I love the effect it gives. It’s not that noticeable but it just adds a bit of definition, I think anyway!
The Tropical Bloom Eyeshadow Palette* is pretty out-there for me but I already have way too many neutral shades & thought it would be a great opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and try something different. This palette is talc free and the colours are really pigmented. The palette is 100% natural, gluten free and vegan. As you all will probably know I have trouble with my eyeshadows creasing and this was no exception – especially in the hot weather we’ve been having in the UK this past few weeks. Don’t be put off by this though, I have extremely oily lids and every single eyeshadow creases on me, natural or not! The funny thing is, just above my eyelashes is where the eyeshadow stays and oh boy does it stay! It’s just anything above that where it creases, my eyelid just eats it all up haha! The powders are really smooth and you don’t get any fall-out at all which is great.
All of the colours are really pigmented but my favourites are the purple, green & blue as they’re the ones I will wear the most. I wanted to try out a few different looks so I went for the green & blue for one look and then used the purple all over the lid, pink in the crease with their Purple Plum eyeliner for a bit of definition along my lashline. The tutorials for these looks are all in my video.
The girls also sent me their Black Diamond Lash Lengthening Mascara* which is 100% natural and claims to “nourish and hydrate lashes like no other”. I already have quite long lashes so I generally tend to look for a more “volumising” mascara. The photo on the website of the mascara has a different brush to what you get which is a bit strange. On the website it is a much fuller brush whereas this one doesn’t get much product on it at all.
I have to say this is my least favourite product out of everything I was sent. It’s not terrible but it reminds me a lot of the Neal’s Yard Remedies mascara that I don’t like. It doesn’t really add that much length and there is no volume. My lashes don’t stay curled all day either. It doesn’t flake which is a slight bonus but maybe as I already have long lashes it just doesn’t make that much of a difference to me? I don’t know! Here’s a photo of me wearing the mascara so you can see the difference with & without:
No mascara on the left and then one coat on the right. Below is two coats. As you can see it does lengthen but for me I personally look for volume.
It only costs £12.00 which isn’t bad at all for a natural mascara and considering some of the ingredients; acai extract, cucumber seed oil, rice peptides, rose distillate, & green tea extract – all great ingredients! Unfortunately this one is a miss for me…however everything else is in my good books!
Not only do the girls run their own natural skincare business but they also run an online beauty store called The Natural Beauty Store where they stock all of their Delizioso Skincare products as well as other natural brands such as Petal Organics, Rebels Refinery & their other products, Beeseline & Vegaline.
I did a quick Q&A with the girls too so you can get to know them a little more too!
