La Mav have been on my radar for only a short time since Inga sent me one of their lip glosses in the Green Beauty Swap over the Summer. I tweeted La Mav to say how much I loved it and they sent me some more products to try! I was so thrilled when I received a box in the post (very quickly might I add) all the way from Australia with five full-size products to review! It came at a great time too as it was when I was participating in the Beauty Challenge 10 and I couldn’t buy any products until I had used up 10 products. I’m going to review the make-up products first and I’ll talk about the skincare in a later post!
The Sunkissed Bronzer* is a mineral powder bronzer that is “long lasting and water resistant”. It has SPF15 and doesn’t contain any fillers or talc. It has certified organic Rosehip Seed Extract and is suitable for all skin types. It is a beautiful colour, offering a bronzed, sunkissed look that doesn’t look orange or cakey. It does have some shimmer to it, but it is very fine and not that noticeable which is great in my books as I don’t like much shimmer, more glow! You do have to be careful not to apply too much as it doesn’t blend off that well, so I always apply a small amount and build it up but that has just been a case of trial & error and now I know to tap any excess off the brush and apply lightly.
Rachel (All Natural Aspirations) recently reviewed their Mineral Foundation and she loves it so you can check out her review here. I was also wearing this bronzer in my Whisper Challenge video (link) if you want to see what it looks like on my skin!
The bronzer works really well with the Vegan Kabuki Make-Up Brush* which is a super soft, cruelty free brush that picks up a lot of the powder. It isn’t too big so the product goes pretty much exactly where I want it to. I just pick up a small amount of the bronzer from the lid, tap off the excess and bronze away! It blends the product in smoothly and leaves me with an airbrushed look.
Apologies for the packaging – my puppy Persie started eating the case! Luckily I grabbed it off him before he did much damage but it meant that all of the product went into the lid so normally there wouldn’t be as much in the top and the sifter has helped to get a lot of the product back down into the bottom. You can also shut the sifter which is great for me as you all know I’m not that keen on loose powders as they get everywhere but this helps with the mess!
Inga very kindly sent me the Tinted Lip Treatment in the Colour Nude and La Mav sent me the shade Sheer Pink*. Their lip treatments are filled with nourishing ingredients such as Vitamin E, Sea Buckthorn Oil, Shea Butter and Argan Oil as well as CoEnzyme Q10 to help fight the visible signs of ageing on the area that is most prone to the first sign of wrinkles: the lips. I’m not looking for anything anti-ageing as I am only 21 so I can’t comment on any effects from that but the lip glosses are really moisturising. The colours are beautiful too and offer just the right amount of colour and pigmentation. They both look lovely on their own as well as over lipstick.
Keep an eye out for my skincare post from the La Mav Purify & Clean range!
