Red Apple Lipstick Mix & Mingle and Mayberry | Beauty Review

The day has finally arrived! I got my hands on two Red Apple Lipsticks woo woop! I was so excited when they came in the post I swatched them both straight away & put it on Twitter.

Red Apple Lipstick lipsticks are vegan, cruelty free, gluten free, fragrance free, allergen free and paraben free. Amazing huh?

My favourite out of the two and probably one of my all-time favourite lipsticks is Mix & Mingle* which is a gorgeous bright pink shade. It is described as a “fun, flirty fuchsia” and I totally agree; as soon as I applied the lipstick, I was in love with it! It goes on so smoothly, it’s so moisturising and the colour pay-off is ridiculous. I put it on at 8:30am before work one morning and it was still going strong 5 hours later! The actual colour was still on for longer than that but it had faded slightly where I had been eating & drinking (understandably) but I am so impressed with the longevity of it. I even fell asleep the other night without doing a proper cleanse of my face (naughty I know!) and the colour was still on my lips the next morning. The formula is so moisturising, probably one of the most nourishing lipsticks I’ve tried and doesn’t dry out my lips at all.

The other shade, Mayberry*, is a recent addition to the RAL shade selection which was designed by Andrea and is a “dusty rose shade with a hint of berry”. When I first applied it, I did quite a heavy coat & it looked really over-done and almost brown-toned on my lips however if you just do a quick swipe (see far right swatch) it has a much more berry look to it & I really like it! It can easily be worn in the day without looking too dramatic but can be paired with a lovely smokey eye for an evening look. This one doesn’t last as long as Mix & Mingle but the colour still stains my lips which looks really nice.

The packaging from Red Apple Lipstick is so luxurious, the black cases are so sleek and sturdy and rival those of high-end mainstream brands. The lipsticks cost $23.50 which I think is a great price for such a great lipstick however the only annoying thing is the shipping cost to the UK is more than the lipstick itself. I’ve heard they’re reducing the cost so I’ll definitely be trying a few more from them if they cut the cost down…
