Ilia are an organic make-up brand I’ve dipped in & out of and I was recently sent one of their lipsticks in the shade Wild Child* to review from Naturisimo.
Ilia’s lipsticks are infused with organic jojoba, sesame, sunflower seed and grape seed oils to soothe and nourish lips as well as cocoa butter, beeswax and rosehip oil to help moisturise lips. What I love the most about Ilia’s lipsticks is the wide array of shades they come in, whilst also being carmine free. Of course, the brand is cruelty free too.
Wild Child is described as “a warm, fiery red that will command a second look in every occasion” and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. In the bullet it looks almost like a fluorescent red but it’s quite sheer on application and can be built up or blended in depending on how vibrant you want the colour to come across.
I did some swatches so you can see how it can be worn sheer or built up for a more vibrant lip colour. It isn’t matte, there’s no shimmer but it has a lovely gloss to it, meaning it’s quite moisturising. You can take this colour from day to night which is great and it’s fairly long-lasting too, holding up for around 3-4 hours.
Okay so these photos don’t show it really well….sorry! SO hard to take pictures of my own lips, but I hope you can see that you can build up the colour!
You can get Ilia lipsticks online at Naturisimo for £22.00.
