JooMo Honey & Orange Face Wash | Beauty Review

Last year I came across the brand JooMo who claim to have made the first ever 100% natural face wash. I was really intrigued but was never really a huge fan of face washes and as I’d only just started going green, I wasn’t sure if it was just another green washing company or for real. Turns out, it’s for real!

JooMo is run as a Cooperative business owned by young people, for young people. The young owners of the company have worked with some of the UK’s top universities and research labs to develop JooMo face wash which has no preservatives.

SaponinJTM is a unique skin repair system that enables the skin to return to its natural state. It consists of a specially balanced all natural formula of saponins, essential oils, sea salt, natural sugars, natural pH modifiers, natural anti-oxidants and natural softeners and emollients. You can read more about their ingredients here

The face wash has a thick, gooey texture thanks to the unprocessed thyme honey that softens and moisurises skin. It also has antibacterial, anti fungal, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. The wash actually smells like Christmas. The blend of cinnamon, orange and clove means it has a gorgeous scent and the orange is great for balancing skin. Cinnamon and clove are also anti inflammatory and help calm down inflamed skin. Guar gum is an emollient and anti inflammatory too whilst raw cane sugar nourishes, soothes and helps speed healing. Gum arabic is a natural gum made of hardened sap from the acacia tree and has soothing and anti inflammatory properties.

As you can tell from the ingredients, it sounds like a dream product for acneic and problem skin but I didn’t really have high hopes for this product being 100% honest as I thought it would just be the same as a regular natural face wash (I’m not really a face wash kinda girl!) but I was so wrong. The first time I used this, I had a few nasty red hormonal spots that normally wouldn’t reduce in size from just using a product however I was very impressed the next morning when they’d visibly reduced in size and redness. It doesn’t foam up too much but offers a gentle yet thorough cleanse. It’s easy to wash off and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry.

Talking to one of my Auntie’s friends on a recent trip to London, I found out that she actually bought this for her young son to use and it’s helped his skin a lot too, so it’s definitely beneficial for young skins, as well as boys and girls.

At just £9.95 for 100ml bottle, it won’t break the bank and is definitely affordable for teenagers too but it’s worked for me too. Now this is the cleanser I go to if I have a few spots and it helps them disappear so much quicker!
