Kjaer Weis Blossoming Cream Blush | Beauty Review

Last year I won a giveaway on the lovely Sandra’s blog, Beauty Balm, for a £50 gift card from Content. I absolutely love Sandra’s blog and I love Content so it was the perfect prize! After lots of umming and aahing I decided to buy a Lotus Wei mist and a Kjaer Weis blush.

Kristen Kjaer Weis is a make-up artist who created this eco-luxe range of make up after discovering that the organic makeup that was on offer at the time didn’t compare to its chemical-laden counterparts. She spent 8 years developing her own range of lip tints, blushes, eyeshadows of which she has added foundations and other products since.

“Ultimately what I wanted to achieve was an alternative that fused beautiful color, texture and design with organic non-harmful formulas. I think it’s the way forward.”

I had wanted to try Kjaer Weis products for a long time but as I could only get them online (or if I actually visited Content) I didn’t want to splurge on something I hadn’t tried or seen before. I finally caved in and bought myself the Creme Blush in the shade Blossoming after reading some reviews. The packaging of her products is simply stunning however Kristen lets you buy re-fills so you don’t have to keep buying packaging that can be re-used. I have a Z palette so I put my creme blush in there rather than spending more money on the packaging (although it is to die for!) The creme blush doesn’t have any artificial ingredients such as petroleum, parabens, artificial colouring or fragrance and it is not tested on animals. It is gluten free however this product is not suitable for vegans as it has beeswax and carmine. I won’t be purchasing this again as I do not like using carmine and this was something I completely over looked by accident when ordering in all the excitement! If you’re unsure what carmine is you can read my post on it here

However, as I bought it and had already swatched it before realising it had carmine, I might as well use it rather than it go to waste. This photo below shows the colour off better than the top photo I think, I was struggling with the lighting in the above photo & it looks a lot brighter!

Blossoming is described as a rosy pink peach shade and I find that works best when blended in with my fingers. I sometimes use a brush to just get it out of the compact so I’m not putting my fingers in the product and then blend with my fingers lightly onto my cheeks. The end result…a lovely light pink glow.

It isn’t the longest lasting blush and it looks a bit brighter than the photo in real life, however it is a really pretty shade and I think it suits my skin tone really well. As I said before, I wouldn’t purchase it again as it does have carmine but I will enjoy it until it runs out!

Have you tried Kjaer Weis? What’s on your wishlist?
