Wyatt & Jack are a British company based in the Isle of Wight who create sustainable bags out of recycled materials. But the materials they use are a little different to what you’d expect…they upcycle beach deckchair canvas and retired bouncy castle vinyl PVC! Wyatt & Jack have a huge variety of bags from large holdalls to small make-up bags like the one I’m going to show you today.
The Sophia* is a make-up bag that comes in either of the two upcycled materials and the one I have is the lilac & white deckchair canvas. This bag is perfect for putting in my handbag to keep all my make-up and little bits and pieces together. As it is made from deckchair canvas, it isn’t perfect but I like that…it gives it character! It is very well made though and it is lined on the inside and has a zip closure to keep everything safe.
It retails for £14.95 which is pretty good considering it is made in Britain using sustainable resources, meaning that there is less plastic going to waste! What is also great about Wyatt & Jack is that they know exactly where each material has come from so if you live in Brighton & Hove, for example, you can click on that section on the site to see exactly which bags have been made using materials found on that beach! I have my eye on The Groucho next!
