Mary Elizabeth Natural Hand Cream & Balm | Beauty Review

I’ve been testing out some natural products from Mary Elizabeth skincare over the last month or so. Mary Elizabeth is a natural brand created by mother & daughter duo, Cecelia & Claire who started the brand after Cecelia was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. Cecelia is a trained aromatherapist so she really enjoys working with the many beneficial properties of natural plant oils and essential oils.

“Our aim is to simplify the skincare regime of busy women who live a healthy lifestyle and want “greener” skincare.”

I was sent two products from their Nuture Range; Juniper & Jojoba Hand Cream* and their Spearmint & Tea Tree Nurture Balm*.

Their Spearmint & Tea Tree Nurture Balm is jam packed with moisturising shea butter, spearmint essential oil and tea tree oil as well as vitamin enriched oils such as apricot kernel, hemp oil, meadowfoam seed oil and avocado oil.

It is a multi-purpose balm and can be used pretty much anywhere to nourish dry skin. Use on your nails and cuticles to strengthen, on lips to soothe, on hands to enrich and feet & heels to moisturise dry skin. It is only a small tin so I have been using this for my lips as if I did use it on my body, it’d be gone pretty quickly! I quite like using this on any spots that might have gone dry and flaky on the surface. The tea tree helps the blemish and the soothing ingredients help the flaky skin. I love the scent of this balm too, it reminds me of spearmint Polo’s!

Priced at just £7 for a 15ml tin, this won’t break the bank & if you use it on small areas, it’ll last ages.

The Juniper & Jojoba Hand Cream is filled with jojoba and calendula oils as well as juniper, geranium and chamomile to moisturise skin and keep it protected. I have been applying this at night before bed and it really does help to keep my hands soft. It doesn’t leave my hands feeling sticky or greasy in the slightest and it’s a great size product to keep in your handbag too for when you’re out and about. It has a very delicate scent but I really like it. I can’t quite put my finger on the scent but it’s not overpowering or too strong at all so I really like applying it before bed.

At £10.00, I think that is a reasonable price as you only need a small amount and it’s a 50g jar. It does have phenoxyethanol as the preservative so look out for that if it’s a preservative you avoid.

Overall I think the two products are lovely and it’s a really nice family run brand. It’ll be interesting to see if there’s any more products in the line-up and I think although I wouldn’t say they were amazing holy-grail products for me, they’re lovely to include in my collection and I enjoy using them.
