Organic September Day 25: My Organic Switches

I have personally made quite a few switches to organic food/products this month so I thought I’d share a few bits that I swapped, and whether I thought it was worth it or not.

I was in Waitrose and they had 25% off their Duchy potatoes so I picked up a bag and I’m really glad I did. I’m not sure whether it’s the potatoes, or the fact I’m a better cook than Paul, but our homemade potato chips have been much nicer ;).

This is one of the easiest things I think you can do when switching to go organic because it isn’t that much more, and there’s no taste difference whatsoever but the cows are kept in much nicer conditions and treated better than standard milk, plus the farmers get more money. I went into ASDA a few weeks ago and a 4 pint bottle was 85p!! I refused to buy it for that little, what a joke.

Okay okay, this is more because I did a post on Organic Chocolate so I’ve been munching away on all of those bars, but I do try and buy organic when possible anyway!

Paul & I love sausage, mash & beans and the weather’s been perfect for it (rainy & cold) so I picked up some organic chipolatas from Waitrose which were pretty tasty, although they were about £3.50 for a packet of 12 so were definitely on the pricier side so not something we’d be getting every time.

Technically I haven’t switched because I couldn’t bloody find any organic strawberries anywhere!! I tried Tesco, Waitrose, ASDA & Sainsbury’s and nobody had any organic ones. Pfft.

What organic switches have you made this month?
