Christmas Gifts: SKN-RG

Science meets nature in the products I’m sharing with you today. SKN-RG is an organic skincare brand, founded by husband & wife duo, Robert and Deborah Scott. They wanted to create a skincare brand that goes beyond just natural ingredients and have developed a range of certified organic products that combined with scientific advancements, they believe have unrivalled performance. You don’t often see natural brands using scientific developments in their products and when you do it’s not always the most natural ingredients, however I’ve tried all of these and I can tell you they work great, whilst having amazing certified organic ingredients.

If you want to treat someone special this Christmas, you’ve found the right post! Their Weekly Miracles Kit is a collection of three products; Super Rich Exfoliant Treatment, Super Rich Collagen Boosting Face Mask and the Rotate Pro Oil Concentrate. All of these are available to buy separately, so you can even make your own combination and create the perfect gift.

The Super Rich Exfoliant Treatment is a regenerating exfoliator which has a really creamy texture and tiny jojoba pearls to gently buff away dry skin. It also has sea buckthorn and manuka honey to nourish skin, revealing a brighter, softer complexion. I have thoroughly been enjoying using this product. I simply scoop a small amount of product from the jar, massage into my skin and use a warm flannel to remove. My skin is left feeling smooth and looking a lot clearer and brighter. Even though this is an “anti-ageing” range, I definitely don’t need that yet, but it works really nicely with my skin. The combination of ingredients like lavender, lemon and aloe vera help with the oily side of my skin, whilst the comfrey, calendula, honey and sea buckthorn nourish and help to get rid of any dry patches.

The Super Rich Collagen Boosting Mask has a very similar texture to the Scrub, but this one is creamy and soft without the jojoba pearls. It has very similar ingredients to the scrub actually, with chamomile, aloe vera, lavender, lemon myrtle, chamomile and rosehip oil. Even though coconut oil is high up on the ingredients list in both of these products (I normally have an issue with coconut oil on my face) I’ve had no issues since using these. In fact, they have both helped with reducing the size of blemishes and healing my skin recently. The instructions say to leave this on for 10 minutes, however I broke the rules and keep this on for around 25-30 minutes to pamper my skin. It has a creamy texture so it does sink into the skin, and then I simply rinse away with a warm flannel.

Last but certainly not least, we have the Pro Oil Concentrate. This award-winning oil is 100% organic and has a lovely blend of rosehip oil, evening primrose oil, safflower oil, chia seed oil, hazelnut oil, rose otto, lemon myrtle, and may chang fruit oil. It is quite a light oil and sinks into the skin quickly so I can use it morning or night. It has a delicate scent and all of the oils all work together to nourish and hydrate your skin. It doesn’t come in cheap at £49.50 for 30ml, however it is 100% organic so you are getting the highest quality ingredients.

Aside from these products, there’s also another range of products in their Advanced collection. The AHA & Enzyme Cleansing Melt is a gel based cleanser, designed to purify and decongest skin without causing irritation. Bio-fermentations of golden raspberry, black grape, blueberry and pear provide the skin with a rich source of antioxidants to promote healing and cellular renewal, whilst lemon peel, rose otto and manuka honey help to detoxify the skin. I would say this is a cream/gel hybrid as it’s not quite as gel-y as others I’ve tried but it’s not super creamy. I love cleansing my face with this as a second cleanse, and when you mix with water it turns into a milky substance so it’s super easy to remove with no residue. This product would be great for any men you need to buy for too, as the packaging is a red, sleek box so there’s no pretty flowers in sight.

SKN-RG leave many ingredients out of their products including SLS, phenoxyethanol, parabens, formaldehyde, lanolin, beeswax, colours, alcohol and phthalates. Instead you’ll find mineral extracts, fruit extracts and bio-fermentations. If you’re interested in the science behind the brand, you can read all about that here.

Some of their products are also suitable for Vegans; Organic Pro Serum, Organic Pro Oil and the Advanced Pro Retinol Serum.

You can also get 10% off your first order using the code TRANSFORM.
