I was recently contacted by the lovely Emma Reinhold from the Soil Association, which is the certifying body in the UK for organic foods and beauty products.
I received a lovely hamper in the post and I am so excited to share these wonderful organic products with you all. There is a variety inside the hamper from tea and healthy green juice to organic skincare products from some of my favourite brands.
The Soil Association have created the Campaign for Clarity, with the aim of encouraging brands to be more transparent and clear about the ingredients in their products. There is a lot of greenwashing about these days, and you don’t truly know if a product is organic or not, unless it is certified. Many brands use the term natural or organic on their products, when in fact there may only be one or two natural ingredients inside. There are no rules or regulations in place to stop brands from doing this and if you go to any Boots or Superdrug here in the UK, you’ll see a lot of brands doing it, and it needs to stop.
That’s where the Soil Association come in. The SA are the leading organic certifying body in the UK and a lot of my favourite brands are certified, as I know I can trust where the ingredients are sourced and how the products are made. Products that are certified by the Soil Association go through vigorous testing to ensure they are truly organic.
Choose to go Organic in 2016 and make it your resolution to use more organic products. If you’re unsure where to start, check out my Green Beauty Newbie series and take a look below at a few brands I love…
Included in the wonderful hamper is a box of Pukka Detox Tea, Pukka Clean Greens Juice, Intelligent Nutrients Revitalizing Moisturising Crème, Spiezia Soothing Leg & Foot Balm, Neal’s Yard Remedies White Tea Facial Mask and a Nourish Kale & Argan Anti-Ageing Hand Cream. Quite surprisingly, I’ve not tried any of these products before except the Pukka tea so I am looking forward to trying the rest as I am familiar with all of the brands and know they’ll be high-quality products. I’ll be sharing reviews on them in the near future so keep an eye out for those and if there’s any product in particular you’d like me to write about first, let me know!
A few of my other favourite Soil Association certified brands include Therapi Honey Skincare, Skin & Tonic, Green People, Botanicals, Lulu & Boo, Inlight, SKN-RG, Pai Skincare, Circaroma & Herbfarmacy.
