Founder Grace Collier created the online store out of a true passion for organic beauty. She trained in all aspects of beauty therapy at Steiner Beauty School when she was just 16, so she has always had an interest in beauty and skincare. After developing an interest in organic food, this led to her interest in clean cosmetics and hence, Totally Organic was born.

Stocking a specially selected range of brands including Odylique, Willow Organic, Botanicals, Nourish & SKN-RG, there is a product for all skin types, ages and requirements. At present, Totally Organic only stock Soil Association certified products as they are one of the strictest certifiers out there, and the UK’s organic governing body. All of the products are cruelty free and are not tested on animals. Most are also vegetarian, and a few are vegan too!

When I switched to organic beauty, I didn’t really know where to start as there were so many confusing labels and marketing claims, however now that I know what to look for and where to shop, it is much easier to find truly organic products. There are plenty of products out there claiming to be organic and natural when they might only have a couple of natural ingredients and the rest is SLS or parabens, however if a brand is certified by the Soil Association, there’s no doubt it’ll contain only the best organic ingredients, which is why Grace chooses them for her shop. Organic products have the best, natural ingredients that are kinder to your skin than mainstream products, and I have found a lot of organic brands that keep my skin in tip-top condition.

In the future we can expect to see organic brands from other strict certifiers like COSMOS and USDA appearing on Totally Organic’s virtual shelves. It is of upmost importance to Grace that these brands are not only governed by the same strict standards as the Soil Association but also that the products are as high performance as the ones that have been selected for the site at present. I have tried almost all of the brands on the website, and I can honestly say I have never been disappointed with the quality or efficacy of the products.

I’ve been using the SKN-RG Super Rich Creme Cleanser to thoroughly cleanse my skin in the evenings after removing my make-up. It is gentle yet offers a deep cleanse and leaves my skin feeling clean and glowy. Willow Organic’s Hydrating Toner is a what I use after cleansing and it’s a little different to other toners as it has a gel-type consistency. I like to apply a little bit of this with my hands, straight onto my face in a pressing motion for ultimate hydration after cleansing or another way I like to use this product is with a small amount on a cotton pad in a sweeping motion over my face in the mornings, or at night to make sure I’ve removed all my make-up. Last but not least in terms of skincare is the Odylique Lemon & Tea Tree Purifying Wash which is perfect for my oily/combination skin type and I’m not usually a fan of face washes but this is perfect to use in the shower in the mornings!

And finally, we have the Nourish Argan & Kale Hand Cream which has been a dry-skin saviour in the colder months. It’s full of nourishing ingredients such as argan oil, frankincense, neroli and kale extract.

If you’re looking for age defying products, choose SKN-RG. If you want to try natural and organic without breaking the bank, choose Botanicals or Nourish and if you fancy treating yourself, go for Willow Organic.

You can find Totally Organic on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
