When I found out that the May Beauty Heroes Box was going to have a full-size Mahalo Rare Indigo Beauty Balm, I was so, so excited! Mahalo are a Hawaiian brand and I’ve been wanting to try their products for so long. Their packaging is beautiful and eco, and the ingredients in their products sound incredible.
Liz from Smells like a Green Spirit kindly sent me a sample of the Rare Indigo Balm a couple months back and I was really intrigued by it, so having a full-size in this box which retails for $110 is amazing!
“Organic hemp, murumuru, babassu, grape seed and kukui oils replenish the skin with essential fatty acids, while helichrysum, chamomile, acai, and chamazulene-rich yarrow build a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant profile to renew skin at the cellular level. Rose, Vitamin C, coQ10, iris, carrot seed, and bergamot deliver a youth-enhancing and restorative boost to repair stressed skin. And as only nature can, the leaves, flowers and stem of the indigo plant infuse this balm with anti-inflammatory actives as well as its signature hue. A calming aroma emerges in the swirling blend of vanilla, iris, ylang ylang, frankincense and lavender, inviting you into the present moment.”
To use the balm you just simply rub a 1/2 pea size amount between your fingers to warm and apply all over your face as a moisturising treatment. It is a solid balm in room temperature but as soon as you apply to the skin it melts into an oil consistency. As I mentioned earlier I tried a sample from Liz and am yet to try the full-size but I can imagine it would be amazing on any spots that need healing or particularly dry patches. The date on it is September 2016 though…so I better use this everyday!
This month’s sidekick is a 15ml travel size of their Petal Mask which is an enzyme-rich honey based mask that naturally exfoliates and draws in moisture while rose clay and cacao soften and detoxify. I can’t wait to try this!
“Floral essences of rose, hibiscus, chamomile, jasmine, ylang ylang and rose geranium are perfectly arranged to create the ultimate beautifying skin treatment, gentle enough to apply pre-event or several times a week.”
Unfortunately this box has now SOLD OUT and you now have to join a waiting list to join Beauty Heroes as they have reached maximum capacity. I’d definitely recommend signing up to the waitlist and get in as quick as you can because I’ve heard there’s going to be some more amazing boxes in the future and even exclusive launches!
