I have a very exciting post for you all today, coming from one of my favourite online natural & organic skincare boutiques, abeautifulworld*. They are experts in bringing over new, upcoming green brands to the UK from all around the world, with a focus on products that really deliver. Founder Liz McCarthy has curated an amazing range of brands since their launch in 2013 and they stock some of my favourite brands including Indie Lee, The Body Deli and Josh Rosebrook.
To add to this amazing selection, Liz has added YULI, Lilfox Miami, Proverb and Lucy Annabella over the last couple of months that’ll make the colder months ahead a little more luxurious. I don’t know about you but when the weather starts to get colder, I love making more of an effort with my beauty routine, pampering myself with masks, scrubs and body oils in the evenings to get cosy.
Lucy Annabella was founded by Colleen Quinn, a passionate Complementary Therapist and Clinical Aromatherapist who has been an organic health enthusiast ever since she realised that what we put on our body is as important as what we put into it. They have a luxury, organic therapeutic bath and body range, including body milks, oils and candles that encourage renewal and restoration, helping to heal the body and soul – an ideal treat during the Winter months to de-stress and wind down from the chaos of the festive season. They have curated a range of gift sets that would make the perfect present for those who love to enjoy some time-out, relaxing in the bath and taking care of themselves.
The hero product is their Soothing Gift Set* which features a Soothing Organic Treatment Oil coupled with the Soothing Aromatic Candle. Both products are scented with spike lavender, rosemary and marjoram which aid calm, serenity and peace. The treatment oil can be used in a host of ways; as a daily body moisturiser, a nightly face oil and a weekly hair treatment. It smells absolutely incredible – as if you’re being transported to a spa! There’s also the Adore, Uplifting and Restful Gift Sets if you prefer a different scent blend.
Their Time-Out Bath Milk* is also an essential for the winter months if you’re a bath-lover and is a luxurious blend of argan, sweet almond and coconut oils with a calming, indulgent blend of Cypress, Orange, Juniper Berry, Geranium, Marjoram and Chamomile. I’m not usually one for baths however every now & then I’ll dip into our claw-foot bath to enjoy some beautiful natural products. Using all three of these products together would be the perfect pamper evening; light the candle, take a relaxing dip in the bath using the oil as a hair treatment, then use afterwards on your body…you’ll have the best nights sleep!
Special Offer: Spend £150 in the abw Christmas Shop and get a FREE Lucy Annabella Peaceful Soul Candle.
Lilfox Miami* are a luxury botanical skincare brand, pioneering the new trend for “Spiritual Beauty”, with crystal infused products based on performance-driven, earth conceived ingredients. I recently discovered that their founder Alexis Rose graduated from Formula Botanica, an online skincare formulating school, whose conference I attended a few weeks back. It was so inspiring to see so many women in one room, creating their own natural skincare brands and to see those who’ve graduated and started their own successful ranges too.
A couple of standout products from Lilfox Miami are the Jungle Glow (which I’ve been eyeing up since I spotted it in New York) and the Camomilla Infusion Makeup Remover. Jungle Glow is an enzyme cleanser & mask that’s made with raw Hawaiian rainforest honey and a blend of organic raw cacao & gentle white clay. It also has finely ground rosehip seeds which provide gentle exfoliation and neroli & pink grapefruit which make for an intoxicating aromatic beauty ritual.
It’s fairly sticky thanks to the honey, but using the Face Mask Brush means there’s no mess & I can apply the mask quickly & evenly over my face. I love honey in skincare and my skin loves neroli so it’s easy to say that I know this will be a firm favourite in my weekly skincare routine. My skin looks plump & healthy after using this as a mask and it works nicely as a cleanser too – I like that it has exfoliating seeds as I have combination skin that is prone to breakouts but also dry patches so this helps multiple skin issues that I have.
The entire skincare range is created with the most beautiful organic ingredients that make your skincare ritual a wonderful treat at the end of a long day. The Camomilla Infusion Makeup Remover is a beautiful blend of organic cold-pressed jojoba oil and soothing botanicals of lavender, chamomile and frankincense that gently removes makeup & cleanses skin. The scent is simply divine, it’s so calming and perfect for taking off my makeup at night. You just need a few drops to massage it into the skin & it removes mascara and preps my skin for a second cleanse (I’ve been loving the YULI Halcyon cleanser recently!)
A new launch to abeautifulworld as well as the natural & organic skincare scene is Proverb* which is a skincare brand for men, created by the duo who bought us Pinks Boutique, Kirstie & Luke Sheriff. Based on the knowledge and efficacy of sports nutrition, Proverb have applied this to skincare harnessing clean, active, natural & organic ingredients such as proteins, antioxidants and enzymes for lab-proven results.
Proverb are encouraging the men in your life to adapt the 4x4x4 ultimate skincare routine – four products, four moves, four minutes. It really is that simple! My fiancé Paul has been testing out the Cleanse & Shave Nutrient Mud* and the Hydration Pro Moisturiser* which is very exciting for me as I’ve been trying to get him off his mainstream moisturiser for years! The nutrient mud is a 2-in-1 product that acts as a face cleanser and shaving creaming. It combines avocado, acai and clay minerals which deeply cleanse and help to calm and repair skin. Paul has been enjoying using this as a cleanser in the evenings and says it has a nice texture, it rubs into the skin easily and his skin feels much cleaner after using it. He also likes using it to shave and says he’d definitely continue to use this over his usual foaming gel – although it isn’t foaming as it’s a cream, it still works well.
An essential for the colder Winter months is the Hydration Pro Moisturiser which combines spirulina, sea buckthorn, hyaluronic acid and amino acids & peptides from coconuts which work together to moisturise skin and increase hydration. Paul loves the scent of this and so do I! It’s not too strong, doesn’t smell too “natural” (which is sometimes how he describes some of my skincare products) and it works well to moisturise his skin. Overall, he really liked both products!
Choosing presents for your loved ones doesn’t have to be time-consuming or stressful. The abeautifulworld Christmas Shop* is full of festive fabulousness including exclusive gift sets from Josh Rosebrook, The Body Deli and Indie Lee – the only trouble you’ll have is choosing which one (or two) sets to buy! Once you’ve decided, don’t forget to treat yourself too – spend £150 in the Christmas Shop and you’ll get a free Lucy Annabella Peaceful Soul candle (worth £35).
