New at Love Lula: Mossa Skincare

Love Lula have recently added a new green skincare brand to their store – Mossa Skincare. It comes from the company behind Madara, so if you’ve tried their products then you might want to check these out too.

The products are based around natural fruit extracts and vitamins. I chose the Micellar Water, Miracle Peel, Vitamin Toner and the Cleansing Mousse and have been trying them out since December. The products are all very reasonably priced but there are a couple of hits & a couple of misses for me.

Active Vitamin Toner
I started using this at the end of December and in January my skin had the worst dry patches I’ve ever had. I hadn’t realised but I think it was actually the toner that caused this. I noticed that alcohol is the second ingredient a few weeks ago and I feel that’s why my skin reacted badly to it and it created awful dry patches that I’ve never experienced before. Such a shame as I don’t see why toners need to have alcohol in – especially so high up! I won’t be using this again.

Micellar Water
I started using this at the same time as the toner so at first I thought my skin didn’t like this either, however I do quite like it. It removes traces of makeup and is nice to use in the mornings to freshen up my skin however I prefer the Madara one so I think I’ll stick to that one in the future.

The Miracle Peel is a creamy lotion style mask that has tiny glitter particles in it. I’m not really sure why it needs the mica but the mask itself is quite nice. I apply and leave on for around 5 minutes. It doesn’t “peel” off, as you might expect from the name. You simply rinse off/remove with a flannel. I do find this helps get rid of dry patches and would be one I’d consider purchasing in the future.

The Cleansing Creme Mousse is a light lotion style cleanser which isn’t what I’d usually use but Paul has actually been using this. It starts as a light lotion, and gently foams on the skin. I personally prefer balms and oils for cleansing but sometimes use lotions if they’re really good, however this one just missed the mark for me because of the alcohol again, it was drying on my skin and left it feeling tight.

Overall a couple of nice products but disappointed with the toner & cleanser. I know the products are reasonably priced but I would expect slightly better ingredients – at the least, no alcohol!
